Three titles from Iceland selected for TIFF

The documentary Temporary Shelter by Anastasiia Bortuali will have its world premiere at TIFF, the Toronto International Film Festival, which takes place from September 5th to 15th.

Anastasiia Bortuali is a Ukrainian filmmaker who sought asylum in Iceland after the invasion of Ukraine in 2022. In the film, she tells the story of Ukrainian refugees who have found a temporary home at a former military base in Iceland.

In addition to Bortuali's documentary the short film O by Rúnar Rúnarsson, starring Ingvar Sigurdsson in the lead role, has been selected for competition at TIFF.

Rúnarsson's latest feature film, When the Light Breaks, has also been selected for screening at the festival. It will be shown in the Centrepiece category.
