Two Icelandic projects at Cinekid for Professionals
Two Icelandic film projects will take part in Cinekid for Professionals, which is the industry event of Cinekid Film Festival, and takes place from October 19 - 22.
The film project Fabled, written by Gudni Líndal Benediktsson and Ævar Thór Benediktsson, has been selected for the Junior Co-production Market. The project is based on Ævar Thór's best selling children's book Þín eigin þjóðsaga. Producers are Thor Sigurjónsson and Arnar Benjamín Kristjánsson for Zik Zak Filmworks. The project will be presented to international professionals from the children's media industry to encourage their future development and production.
The series project My Bonkers Mum!, will take part in Cinekid Script LAB. Participating writers are Gunnar Helgason and Björk Jakosbsdóttir. Cinekid Script LAB is a six-month script-training programme for writers with a children's film or series project and takes place during Cinekid for Professionals in October, and the Berlinale the following February.
