WINTER BROTHERS shortlisted for Denmark‘s Foreign Language Film Oscar submission
Winter Brothers, Hlynur Pálmason‘s Danish/Icelandic feature, is among three films shortlisted for Denmark‘s Foreign Language Film Oscar submission. The other two films are A Fortunate Man by Bille August and The Guilty by Gustav Möller. The Danish Oscar committee will announce the final candidate on 20 September.
The film was recently nominated for this year‘s Nordic Council Film Prize.
Winter Brothers has won a total of 18 international awards since having its world premiere at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland in August 2017, where four of the awards were won. The film has also won a total of 11 awards in Denmark, with nine coming at the Robert Awards and two at the Bodil Awards.
Hlynur Pálmason also won this year‘s Dreyer Award for outstanding artistic achievement.
