World premiere of Ninna Pálmadóttir's SOLITUDE in Toronto

The film Solitude, by Ninna Pálmadóttir, will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film is among 26 titles selected for the Discovery section of the festival, which runs from September 7th to 17th.

Solitude is Ninna Pálmadóttir's debut feature-length film. It tells the story of a man who moves to the city reluctantly after the government takes over his land for industrial development. In the city, he meets a 10-year-old boy, named Ari, and their friendship proves to be transformative for them both. The screenplay is by Rúnar Rúnarsson (Echo, Sparrows, Volcano). Ninna's short film Paperboy was screened at TIFF in 2019.

The film is produced by Lilja Ósk Snorradóttir and Hlín Jóhannesdóttir (Pegasus). Co-producers are Jakub Viktorian and Sarah Chazelle (Nutprodukcia). International sales and distribution are handled by Party Film Sales.

The Toronto International Film Festival, also known as TIFF, is one of the most popular film festivals worldwide, attracting around half a million visitors each September, including thousands of people from the international film community.
