YARN selected for SXSW

The creative documentary Yarn, directed by Una Lorenzen, has been selected for the SXGlobal section of this year's SXSW Film Conference and Festival, which will take place in Austin, Texas, from March 11 – 19.

Yarn recently had its world premiere in the Nordic Light program at the Göteborg Film Festival in Sweden.

The synopsis for Yarn reads as follows: The traditional crafts of crochet and knitting have become hot trends in modern art. We follow a few international artists and knitters as they bring yarn into the streets and our lives in new ways. Starting in Iceland, this quirky and thought-provoking film takes us on a colorful global journey as we discover how yarn connects us all.

Yarn was directed by Una Lorenzen and written by Krishan Arora and Barbara Kingsolver. It was codirected by Heather Millard and Thórdur Bragi Jónsson, who are also the film's producers, for Compass Films. The film was coproduced by Marcin Marczyk for the Polish production company 2M Film Studio. It was edited by Thorunn Hafstad and the music was composed by Örn Eldjárn and Samuel “LoopTok” Andersson.
