Nominee for 2024 HARPA Nordic Film Composers Award

Each year the HARPA Nordic Film Composers Award is awarded to the most outstanding Nordic composer – and thereby putting spotlight on Nordic talent and craftmanship. The award is handed out during Nordic Film Music Days, which runs concurrently with the Berlinale.

This year Icelandic composer Edvard Egilsson is nominated for the music he composed for the documentary Smoke Sauna Sisterhood, directed by Estonian filmmaker Anna Hints. The film is a co-production between Estonia, France, and Iceland and has achieved significant success worldwide since its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 2023. This marks the second consecutive year Edvard has been nominated for the award.

Berlinale Talents

Magnusma Magnús Maríuson, Icelandic-Finnish actor, will be participating in Berlinale Talents this year.
