FÁR selected for TIFF

The short film Fár by Gunnur Martinsdóttir Schlüter will be screened in Toronto International Film Festival's short film programme, Short Cuts, this year. The short is among 42 works from 23 countries that will be presented in the programme this year.

Fár had its world premiere in the short film competition at the Cannes Film Festival in May, where it won special mention. In Fár, an individual is confronted with circumstances that challenge the ethics of humanity in a world disconnected from nature. Gunnur directs the film, writes its screenplay, with Anní Ólafsdóttir, and also takes on the lead role.

The producers are Sara Nassim and Rúnar Ingi Einarsson from the production company Norður. Salaud Morisset handles international distribution and sales.

It has also been announced that Ninna Pálmadóttir's debut Solitude will have its world premiere at TIFF this year in the Discovery programme. The festival takes place September 7-17.
