Films from Iceland at Cannes 2025
Hlynur Pálmason's latest film, The Love That Remains, will have its world premiere in the Cannes Premiere section of the 78th Cannes Film Festival.
The Icelandic Film Centre joins The Five Nordics in Cannes, where a slate of new and upcoming Icelandic titles will be presented at the Nordic House (Square Mérimée 11, close to the palais).

New Producers Room
Rúnar Ingi, an Icelandic director and producer, is among 10 up-and-coming short film producers presented at Cannes New Producers Room 2025.
As the founder of Norður, Rúnar Ingi has developed and produced award-winning work, including the short film FÁR, which won a Special Mention in the short film category at the Cannes Film Festival 2023. Before founding Norður, he directed international commercial work for global clients, earning awards and nominations at Camerimage, the Icelandic Film Awards, Epica, and more. His narrative short ANIMALIA (2020) premiered at the Reykjavík International Film Festival, where it received a Jury's Special Mention, and his documentary short ÓMUR JÓLA (2025) was nominated for Best Documentary Short at the Icelandic Film Awards. He is a member of the Directors Guild of America and holds a BA in Law from the University of Iceland.
