Icelandic films successful at Nordic Film Days Lübeck

Films from Iceland received three awards at Nordic Film Days in Lübeck, Germany. The closing ceremony of the film festival took place on Saturday.

Rúnar Rúnarsson's feature film, When the Light Breaks (Ljósbrot) , and his short film, O , both received awards. When the Light Breaks won the Interfilm Church Prize, while O was selected as the best short film. Katla Njálsdóttir, who plays one of the roles in When the Light Breaks, accepted the awards.

The documentary The Day Iceland Stood Still (Dagurinn sem Ísland stöðvaðist), directed by Pamela Hogan, was chosen as the best documentary. The documentary is made in collaboration with Icelandic film maker Hrafnhildur Gunnarsdóttir, who accepted the award at the festival.

This is the 66th edition of Nordic Film Days in Lübeck. This year, five Icelandic film and television works were screened at the festival .
